| The Commodores are proud to support the Seafair Scholarship Program for Women. Our fundraisers help to fund the scholarships for this program. In addition, the Commodores escort Miss Seafair and her Court at community parades throughout the region.
The Seafair Scholarship Program for Women is one of Seattle's time-honored traditions. Dating back to 1950, it was originally designed to select articulate young women as Seafair representatives, greeting visiting dignitaries and sharing the Seafair message. Almost 60 years later, the Program has evolved into one that rewards academic ambitions, celebrates diversity and showcases future leaders.
Following an intense schedule of speaking engagements and community appearances, outstanding participants receive college scholarships, and one is given the title of Miss Seafair and serves for one year as a representative for the Seafair Festival.
